MOT'S
There's no getting around it MOT's are a must and rightly so, it ensures your vehicle is safe and roadworthy. Fast Piston is a Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) approved Class 4 MOT testing station. Bound by regulation, we believe in a transparent approach toward your MOT. We can offer a pre-MOT inspection in preparation for any issues, that may cause your vehicle to fail, and if any are found our friendly mechanics will walk through the issues, even showing you, so everything for you remains crystal clear. In the event it does fail, we offer the same service post MOT, all at competitive prices.
TIMING BELTS/ CAMBELTS
Your timing belt or cam belt, is an essential piece of your vehicle’s engine. Put simply, it ensures that the engine’s valves open and close when they need to. Without it, your engine simply wouldn’t run. Not ideal!
Timing belts are made of durable material, however like all things they are susceptible to wear & tear over time resulting in possible costly repairs and damage to your engine. Depending on the manufacturer's recommendation, these usually need to be changed between 40,000 and 100,000 miles. We can offer a thorough inspection, including checking for any surrounding issues such as tension wear and if replacement is needed, we use manufacturer approved parts to keep your engine in tip top shape.
BRAKES
This is a big one and one of our most popular servicing requests. After all, what's a car with dodgy brakes? A problem is what it is! There are a few signs to look out for which may indicate there's an issue with your brakes such as squeaking, squealing or grinding; the pedal feeling too light or too stiff or brake fluid leaking. Let us know, we will take a look and advise you accordingly on replacements or repairs.
CLUTCH
Day to day, your clutch is used and abused to it's fullest, particularly in big towns or cities where theres a lot of stop-starting on the roads, so it;s no surprised that they too suffer from wear & tear. Our mechanic's have tonnes of experience working with clutches and are happy to advise, repair or replace.
